First Time Login and Password Reset

This guide will walk you through how to login for the first time and reset a password.

This guide explains how to log in for the first time, reset a forgotten password, and understand the system’s password security requirements.

First Time Logins.

You will receive an initial email before logging into the software for the first time. Once you receive this email:

  1. Click Confirm your email address.
  2. Log in using the Username and Password provided below the confirmation link.
Troubleshooting: If the verification link does not work.
  1. If the verification link does not work, your organization’s email or security system may have modified or removed the link. Please contact your IT Department first so they can determine whether the email security system is blocking or modifying the link.
  2. If your IT Department confirms the issue is not related to your organization’s email system, contact SAFE Support for further assistance.

Note: If you change your email address in the software, you will receive this same confirmation email to verify your new email address.


Reset a Password:

If an incorrect username or password is entered, the system will display the message Username or password is incorrect.If you have forgotten your password or need to reset it:

  1. Click Forgot Password?
  2. You will be taken to the Password Reset page.
  3. Enter your email address.
  4. Confirm that you are not a robot.
  5. Click Reset Password.

An email with instructions for resetting your password will be sent to you. After entering your email address and completing the verification, the system will display a confirmation screen. Once you receive the Password Change Request email, click Reset Password in the email. This will take you to the Password Reset page.


Password Requirements:
SAFE requires each user to have a unique username and password that must be entered each time they log in. Passwords must meet the following security requirements:
  1. 10–128 characters in length
  2. Cannot contain two identical characters in a row
  3. Must include at least three of the following four character types:
  4. Uppercase letters
  5. Lowercase letters
  6. Numbers
  7. Special characters
  8. Passwords cannot be reused for one year
Important: For security purposes, accounts are locked after five failed login attempts for one minute, or until an administrator unlocks the account.
